Last night my human told me that we would visit Toby's house today! That means I get to ride in the car! I could hardly sleep! To make sure that my human did not leave without me, I slept on her bed. She says that it is a full or double bed. I think that it is just the right size for me and I like to stretch out across the middle. She, on the other hand, says that it is too small for the two of us and that one of us has to go sleep elsewhere. Sadly, it is never her. But last night, I stood my ground. I secured my place and allowed her a bit more room than usual. She tossed and turned and, if I didn't know any better, KICKED! At one point, she sat up and looked at me so I wagged my tail and licked her face. Anyway, in the morning, we did our usual things and then she said those magic words "Get your leash!" I was so excited, she could hardly put the leash on and then I grabbed it and ran through my door to the gate.
At Toby's house, we had to wake her up! We sniffed each other and exchanged thoughts and then I was ready to leave. But this was not to be. Apparently my human was going to stay with her dad today. I went to see him and he told me to leave. But, the house has all kinds of goodies and treats in it! My human tricked me outside and I told Toby that we needed to take care of the squirrel problem. The smells are/were everywhere! Even at the doors! On patrol, Toby showed me some of her dig sites--she even dug under the fence into the pool area, a place that she loves because she is obsessed with water. Then I saw something I haven't seen that close--a deer! It was young and wanted to play but couldn't get over our fence. We raced on our respective sides of the fence and sniffed, until its mom came and hurried it away.
So far the day hasn't been a total loss and Toby is behaving--not barking incessantly as usual. As I've said before, Toby and I have a love/hate relationship. Today, I guess, it is mostly love. As long as she stays away from my human!

I love reading your adventures, wondering if this how my pup thinks, lol. Your blog brightens my day with a smile.
I think that all of us canines are deep thinkers.
